Prevalence of Mental Illness in Immigrant and Non-Immigrant U.S. Latino Groups
From The American Journal of Psychiatry:
Although widely reported among Latino populations, contradictory evidence exists regarding the generalizability of the immigrant paradox, i.e., that foreign nativity protects against psychiatric disorders. The authors examined whether this paradox applies to all Latino groups by comparing estimates of lifetime psychiatric disorders among immigrant Latino subjects, U.S-born Latino subjects, and non-Latino white subjects.

The making of Flashbeagle (1985)
I remember when I watched the original Charlie Brown chapter again and again (one of my favorites).

International Mathematica User Conference 2009
This year's conference has presentations on an exciting variety of topics, with separate programming tracks offering something for everyone. Renan Cabrera, my brother has an interesting presentation about Magnus expansions:

From Kathy Dopp's Blog:
Here you can find a mathematical proof that former UN Envoy Peter Galbraith was correct that the UN covered up Afghan vote fraud:

Placebos Have Side Effects Too
From Neuroskeptic:
Everyone's heard of the "placebo effect", by which pills containing no drugs at all, just chalk and sugar, often seem to make people feel better. But if the mere expectation of improvement can produce improvement, then the expectation of unpleasant consequences, such as side effects, should make people feel worse. This is sometimes called the "nocebo" effect.
